The Light within the Frame - Wall Candle Holder by Wahyu Fitria (Medium)

Wahyu Fitria is one of AL Ceramics makers. She discovered ceramics out of curiosity during her architecture studies. Her background helps her approach ceramics with a technical, detailed, and structured perspective while embracing its organic beauty.

Starting with wheel throwing, she later transitioned to hand-building, drawn to clay as a direct, tactile medium that provides a soothing sense of reassurance. She enjoys exploring tools and their possibilities, combining them with hand techniques to refine form and texture.

For Wahyu, ceramics is both an artistic and emotional process—where structure and intention shape every piece with a personal touch.

For this exhibition, she spent time at @alceramics studio, creating an array of beautiful ceramic candle holders which are designed to accentuate the candlelight.

Each piece frames the candle's flame, allowing its glow to gently illuminate and bring the surrounding pieces to life. The interplay between form and light creates a soothing atmosphere, where the ceramics is as much about the light it casts as the shape that holds it.
